Positives! :)

I haven't posted for a while so thought I better post again! :)

I thought I'd focus this post on the positives I've acheived which I am proud of and happy about.

1) On Tuesday 5th March, I went to see Lawson in concert! They are amazing and Andy Brown was super hot! As hot in person as he is in the music videos! ;) Room 94 were amazing too! Loved it, was a great night. I went with my friend, Kim and met my friends, Amber and Holly there. Really throughly enjoyed myself!

2) I managed to wash my hair myself! I haven't been able to do this for MONTHS! So I was so pleased that I could do it. I was proud of myself.

3) I had a blood test and I watched my blood being taken, which I had never done before and it was the first time I had never cuddled in to my mum.

4) I went for a walk round the park which was super lovely, and I really enjoyed myself. Although, the ice-cream we had was rather discusting! :( haha!

I will post again soon!

Lots of love,

Sophs x

What M.E is really like...

Hey all you lovely lot :)

I wanted to write a blog to tell you all a bit of what M.E is like and what the consequences are of having fun. I am trying to raise awareness of how awful this long term illness is.

Last week, I had a lovely week, which was busy for me. Although 'normal' people, people who aren't poorly, would just think of it as an average week.
Because I did push myself to have a good time, a lot of people who don't understand M.E would think that I am getting better, or that I'm okay now. Although, that isn't true... I wish it was!!

I just about managed to do these things because if I didn't push myself to do nice, fun things every once and a while and make some happy memories, then life would be very boring!!

Although, once Saturday came and the week was over, all the effects of doing these things hit me hard! I had to spend most of the weekend and most of Monday in bed where I was feeling so poorly. Things that are usually difficult, like having a bath, were so much harder than before.
Today I am still really struggling and just seem to keep feeling worse everyday, it seems that I have relapsed with my M.E which totally sucks!! -.- This means that all my symptoms have gotten a lot worse, and that I have less energy than before (but I didn't have much then :P) which is highly frustrating!!
Things as simple as sitting up, holding my head up without support and talking are tiring me out and are hard.

But even though these are the consequences, I wouldn't of not done the things I did last week, I enjoyed myself and at the end of the day, that is all that matters. I am proud of myself for doing those things. And I am glad I did them.

I just wanted to give you all an insight of what M.E is like when you have 'overdone' it by doing too many high energy activities.

Thanks for reading, if anyone is reading my blogs that is ;) And hope that all of you who are watching Celebrity Big Brother are enjoying it! I love it! Always makes me laugh! Rylan or Claire to win!!! :D

Love to you all,

Sophs :) xxxx <3

Snowy, snowy, snow :)

Hey all :)

Has everyone been enjoying the snow?  :) I managed to get outside in the snow for half an hour yesterday, it was lovely! I had a snowfight with my Mum, Dad, sister, brother & fiance. It was lots of fun and I attempted building a snowman with my mum and sister which turned into a snow tower :P

Other people with M.E will know that it is hard to get out in the snow, so I was very proud of this achievement!

I spent most of today in bed due to payback from going out into the snow, but it was so worth it :) I loved being out in the snow, made a lovely memory!

Hope all my readers, if I have any ;), are as well as possible :)

Love and hugs to you all,

Sophs <3

Why, hello there :)

Hmm... Where to start :) Well, since this is my first blog I'll tell you a bit about myself.
Well, my name is Sophie, although most of my friends call me Soph or Soph Soph. I'm 17 years old. My favourite TV shows are One Tree Hill (I'm sort of addicted :P) and Big Bang Theory.
Although I'm not like most 17 year olds, I have a long term illness called M.E. I've been poorly with M.E for the past 10 years... This means I am pretty boring ;) Most teenagers, would be out all the time... partying, going to the cinema, would be working or going to school/college and sometimes their days could consist of all these three things in one day. Because of my condition, my life is very different from most teenagers. I want my blog to raise awareness of this awful condition. Not enough is known about this terrible illness...

My days mainly consist of me being led on the sofa or led in bed, resting and doing things such as watching TV and movies, reading and spending time with my family, fiance and friends. This is because I don't have to energy to do many things that are exciting. Doing simple tasks such as having a shower, cleaning my teeth and going to toilet will drain me of my energy, meaning I need to have a rest afterwards.
I am too poorly to go to sixth form, and I am too unwell to work. I hate this because I am missing out on so much, when my friends go to sixth form and sixth form parties I wish I was going too.
I can rarely go to the cinema, most people wouldn't think anything of going to the cinema, they would just think of it as a fun time. Although, when I go to the cinema, I am dreading what the after effects will be... Usually I would have to spend most of the next couple of days in bed. Not very fun :P The noise in the cinema hurts my ears and gives me a headache, the brightness from the cinema screen hurts my eyes and my head, sitting up for a couple of hours gives me bad back ache... Yeah you get the jist ;) See, told you I was boring ;)

Being affected by M.E means I get affected by a huge range of horrible symptoms ... So many, more than you could imagine! Having M.E is like having a severe case of the flu, after having run a marathon, and before that being out all night clubbing without a single second of sleep and spending hours in a gym. Its like all of these things all at once.

Although this illness is really dreadful, and every minute of everyday is a struggle, I have met some lovely people who I now call my friends. And if I hadn't of been poorly, I wouldn't of met my fiance.

In each blog that I do after this one, I will be talking about something that I have achieved that week, whether its something big or small. This means I can look back in the future, and see all the improvements I have gradually made.

Right, I'll leave it there :) If anyone has any questions or anything, feel free to comment below and I promise my next post will be more exciting ;) <3
